Lately, the greatest media coverage given to any single community or country, by the world media, has been Jews and Israel – so much so, that one could think that Jews form world’s largest population – more than Christians (1.9 billion), Muslims (1.7 billion), and Hindus (800 millions). Some of the great ‘anti-Semitic’ news have been - South African Dockworkers’ boycott of Israeli ships or NY rabbis arrested for human organ trafficking or Israeli forces stealing organs from dead and alive Palestinian prisoners or Jimmy Carter’s idea of converting 5,000-year-old Palestine in Israel or Norway celebrating the 150th birthday of Knut Hamsun, or Oliver Stone’s unsuccessful project to make a movie on Iranian president Dr. Ahmadinejad (Ahmadinejad has refused the offer) or Canadian filmmaker, John Greyson’s boycott of Toronto International Film Festival for management’s pro-Israel publicity agenda, and so on.

However, to the great pleasure of the ‘Israel-First’ Jewish groups (AIPAC, ADL, AJC, B’inai B’rith, CJC, etc.) – Queen Madonna Esther appeared on stage half-naked and wrapped in Israeli flag during her last week concert in Tel Aviv. Just imagine, what would be the reaction of Abe Foxman, had Yusuf Islam attended a concert in Beirut, doning Hizb’Allah flag! Allegedly, despite intense lobbying by Abe Foxman-AIPAC, the Kennedy family graciously declined to wrap Ted Kennedy’s coffin in an American-Israeli flag. Shimon Pere, Bibi, and the leaders of AIPAC, ADL and AJC – all praised Ted Kennedy as great friend of Israel (something Jimmy Carter, though serving Israel during his presidence, will never get now).

Franklin Lamb in his September 8 article, A Bum Wrap – Burying Ted Kennedy with the Israeli flag wrote:

“Israel foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, praised Kennedy as “a great friend to me and to Israel and to the Jewish people. He was one of ours.” The anti-Palestinian American Jewish Committee executive director David Harris added that ”Kennedy was in his hearts of heart an Israeli who could always be relied upon. His support for the well-being of the state of Israel faced with Arab threats, was always firm, as was his solidarity with vulnerable Jewish communities.” Harris noted, Kennedy was kind of like ”Joe Biden the Zionist” Harris would have us believe.

Kennedy was not unaware that Israel turned Gaza into a Ghetto and that 90% of casualties in “Cast Lead” were civilians. Or that Israel steals Palestinian lands – steal water resources – burns olive trees and other crops – creates an apartheid wall on stlen land – imprisons nearly 12,000 people, many without trial – indiscriminately uses of US-provided F16s – kills thousands of civilians mostly women and children – commits assassinations at will – starves an entire nation and complains that the opressed Palestinians fire misguided missiles in revenge.

Some Kennedy staffers claim to have seen a change in Ted’s views (Ted’s blind support for the Zionist entity) following his 1992 marriage to Victoria Araiji Boustany Reggie, whose family on her mother side is Lebanese. Probably Ted learned a lot about Israel’s attack on Lebanon from her. A number of Boustanys in Lebanon actually support Hizbollah and the Resistance….”

Personally, I am not admirer of any of America’s top politicians – but I must give credit to Ted Kenndy – for being smart enough not to make enemies those people who were most probably behind the murders of his elder brothers.
