A 40-ton second aid consignment from Iran’s Red Crescent Society flown in Mogadishu on Thursday, was distributed among femine-striken Somali refugees on Saturday to help save people’s lives in one of Africa’s poorest countries.

The shipment, consisted of rice, legumes, canned food, sugar, and medication, was flown to the capital Mogadishu and handed over to the Somali Red Crescent on Thursday. The Iranian Red Crescent Society says it will soon send its third batch of aid to Somalia.

Earlier in the day, deputy head of Iran’s Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation, Saeed Sattari, said the organization’s first humanitarian aid shipment would be sent to Somalia by the end of the Muslim month of Ramadan.

The United Nations has warned that more than thirteen children out of every 10,000 aged less than five die in the Somalia famine zone every day.

Somalia is one of many Muslim-majority countries which are being targeted by the US and other western governments to exploit its natural resources and maintain Israel’s military supremacy over the Muslim countries. After succeeding in the break-up of Sudan, now the Jewish Lobby is targetig Somalia which has not a functional government since 1991.

Washington has a long history of interventions in Somalia – from dictator Said Barre to the ‘Black Hawk Down’, ‘Sea Piracy’, ‘Al-Qaeda’ to ‘War on Terror’.

In August 2010, Gwynne Dyer wrote: “The US decision in 2006 to send Ethiopian troops into Somalia was one of the stupidest moves in a very stupid decade. Alas, the United States panicked, or at least its intelligence agencies did. The mere word “Islamic” set off alarm bells in the Bush administration, which had the lamentable habit of shooting first and thinking later”.

According to pro-Israel New York Times, Washington is using military contractors like Bancroft and funding other African insurgents. The US has also start using drones. “We do not want an American footprint or boot on the ground,” said Johnnie Carson, the Obama administration’s top State Department official for Africa. Should I take it a joke or cowardness on the part of US invinsible military power!

Somalia’s population is 9.3 million (100% Muslim).
