Yes. The situation isn't, "he's a man who happens to be a homosexual." The situation is instead, "he's a homosexual (man)." The homosexual part comes first and the man part comes second. It's inverted logic.
Identity politics. You get your identity from what you are (Black, Brown, queer, Jew, etc.).
