I'm a bit skeptical of a new currency being introduced as I have read reports of the Federal Reserve pouring money into the markets to keep them afloat and being that we're in Iraq and threating Iran mainly to insure the US dollar remains the de facto currency for acquiring petroleum, why would gov't put so much effort into propping up the dollar just to make a switch later on? Wouldn't it be better to let the markets play themselves out and let Iran have it's oil bourse, let the whole house of cards tumble then "rescue" us by getting the NAU going ASAP? It's a little far fetched for me to believe that a merger is right around the corner, with jobs being outsourced overseas and hoards of immigrants replacing American workers here, corporations seem quite content in maintaining the present situation.
