'Stripper' Britney Spears' MTV comeback bombs

It was billed as Britney Spears' spectacular comeback, but as the troubled singer struggled through last night's performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, she showed no sign of reclaiming her former glory.
The 25-year-old, who wore a black sequined bikini and knee-high boots, stunned the audience as she lip-synched her new single Gimme More and failed to keep in time with her back-up dancers.
[color="Red"]Britney had been living it up in Vegas with Diddy and fellow revellers Paris Hilton and 50 Cent for two days before the big show, and it seems that all that champagne and dancing on tables took its toll.
