Najjar said that the choppers opened heavy machinegun fire at the fishing boats, and added that seven fishing boats managed to return to shore but the choppers and the navy boats shelled and completely destroyed them.
He affirmed that the navy boats kidnapped eight fishermen including his son and detained their boats.
He denied that the fishermen were smuggling anything, noting that a small quantity of fish was present at time of the attack.
