Here's what the famous Lands and Peoples, Volume II children's book said about the Jews in Hitler's Germany in 1949. Screw Irving, I'm sticking with this version.

I'm not the one who started the rumor he is a Jew, but I can certainly understand why there are rumors he is a Jew.

Controversial British historian David Irving, sentenced by a court in Vienna last week for denying the Holocaust, has again questioned the existence of a large-scale extermination programme under the Nazis.

During his trial in Austria, 67-year-old Irving acknowledged that gas chambers were operated by the Nazis to kill Jews at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

He was sentenced to three years in jail, but the prosecution has asked to raise the term to 10 years.

But in an interview given to the BBC from his prison cell, Irving again insisted that the numbers of Jews gassed at Auschwitz were small.

'Given the ruthless efficiency of the Germans, if there was an extermination programme to kill all the Jews, how come so many survived?', Irving asked in the interview for BBC Radio 4's Today programme Tuesday.

'A hundred thousand were in the camp at the end of the war, and 60,000 were marched to the West when the camp was overrun by the Red Army. There were 7,000 to 10,000 left in the camp when the Red Army arrived there. That doesn't seem a very efficient programme to me.'

Asked whether he believed that there was an organised programme to exterminate the Jews in Europe, overseen by Hitler, he responded: 'No. That is absolutely wrong and nobody can justify that. Adolf Hitler's own involvement in it has a big question mark behind it.'

Irving said he would not be silenced.

'I am not going to allow governments to tell me what to write with my fountain pen', he sid. 'I can't allow people to silence me. That is not the way to write history.'

I have supported David Irving in a small way for some time.
I had a good conversation with Irving within the year. I am of German stock. I mentioned British propaganda and how it had resulted in the jeering at and humiliation of my own parents in the U.S. as children prior to the First World War. (Thank goodness there was little of that for me as a kid when the Second World War came around.) I mentioned to Irving that because of the scars of their earlier experiences my folks wouldn't even allow tea in the house.(British) He good naturedly said that tea was Hitler's favorite drink.(true)

Now this abominable injustice to Irving. The British people need Irving and even more like him to help restore the honor that Britain deserves, an honor that was take from them by their perfidious jew infested government in two great wars and beyond.

I take what has happened personally.

I have met David irving twice and was always impressed with his charm and erudition, and his humor. He actually thought the Lipstedt thing was a kind of victory for him..."They had to spend millions to get me," he laughed. The conviction is more like something from the middle ages for heresy, and I worry what could happen to Irving in jail. Accidents have been known to happen. I agree with Aronomous; I take it personally as well, and it saddens me to see the brain-washing germans have to be subjected to. When I try to speak to germans about the past, they hush up and are almost afraid to speak; someone once referred to the germans as a castrated people, and the constant self-hatred they are subjected to must be maddening. The media silence is to be expected; in Orwell's 1984, O'Brien bragged to Winston Smith that the future will have no martyrs; they'll be locked up with no one to watch. Sad, true, and I hope Irving comes out ok.

Austrian state prosecutors say they will act over the recent BBC "denial" of the holohoax by David Irving.

According to media reports, an unnamed spokesman of the state prosecution said: "We're going to have to react to that. We can't overlook it. It was possible that Irving had again broken Austrian laws banning Nazi revivalism."

In the BBC interview, Irving merely cast doubt on the number of Jews that had died at Auschwitz. He also described the annihilation of Jewry as personally organised by Hitler as "absolutely wrong."

In the immediate future, say unnamed "observers", the 67-year-old historian's comments will not improve the likelihood of lowering his prison sentence on appeal. But more than that, they may result in fresh charges being brought against him under Austria's Zionist Occupational Government.

The enemies of free speech also questioned the Austrian justice system in allowing Irving to be interviewed by journalists from prison.

So you don't start false rumors that Gentiles are Jews, you just spread them around and repeat them often enough hoping that the lie will "stick" through repetition.

The jailed British Holocaust denier David Irving has been banned from talking to the press after he continued to question the Holocaust from his cell and claimed he was a victim of Jewish persecution.

The 67-year-old author was jailed for three years last week by a court in Vienna, but since his incarceration he has continued to spout his far-right ideology in a number of interviews with the local and international press.

The court ruled Irving had "reinforced his revisionist statements" and "concretely offended" the Republic of Austria and has now forbidden him from giving any more interviews from his cell.

The ruling means no domestic or foreign media, including the British press, radio and television, will be allowed to see the controversial historian. His family and friends will still be allowed access.

Irving has appealed against his sentence but could face more years behind bars as a result of his recent statements if his case goes back to court.

He originally told the court that convicted him that he had changed his mind since making statements in 1989 questioning the extent of the Holocaust.

But his unrepentant behaviour during the trial led the nine-person jury to convict him despite his assurances. Irving was sentenced to three years in prision, which could now be increased if prosecutors decide his statements since the trial constitute another breach of local laws.

As it considers filing new charges of Holocaust denial against Irving, the public prosecutor's office in Vienna is looking at interviews he gave to the Daily Mail, Independent on Sunday and the BBC after his conviction.

The public prosecution spokesman, Walter Geyer, said: "We know Mr Irving has made several interviews with the British press and are looking into statements we believe may contravene the same laws for which he has been jailed."
