DALLAS — The FBI has issued an intelligence warning for Dallas-area law enforcement officers because of information that an alleged leader of the Aryan Brotherhood is trying to gather the names of federal agents, state troopers and police officers, according to a broadcast report.

Dallas-Fort Worth television station KTVT reported Tuesday that the intelligence bulletin warns that an alleged Aryan Brotherhood leader awaiting trial is seeking out members of the brotherhood who were recruited as police informants to gather the information about officers.

The FBI fears the officers' names could be used to locate their residences, telephone numbers or undercover status.

The intelligence bulletin also warns of a possible threat from members of the Aryan Circle threatening to steal weapons from the homes and cars of officers.

The FBI said an intelligence bulletin means there's enough information for a warning.

(CBS 11 News) DALLAS The FBI has reason to believe a white supremacist group is targeting Dallas police and other law enforcement officers.

The Aryan Brotherhood started out as a prison gang to protect white inmates. But the gang's violent impact extends past prison walls and on to the streets.

According to a bulletin sent by the FBI to Dallas Police Headquarters, the Aryan Brotherhood may have Dallas police in its sights.

The warning centers on Jason Lee Hankins, a reported general for the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas. Hankins is being held at Lew Sterrit awaiting his capital murder trial.

According to the bulletin, Hankins has ordered the Aryon Brotherhood to gather names of federal agents, state troopers and local police officers.

"The FBI produces raw, unevaluated intelligence for our partner police agencies and other federal agencies to provide warning, to provide situational awareness and to provide some measure of understanding about a potential threat," said FBI Special Agent Robert Casey.

According to the bulletin, Hankins is seeking out members of the Aryan Brotherhood who were recruited as police informants in order to gather information about local law enforcement officers. The names of those officers would then be added to a database.

From there, the Aryan Brotherhood would cross reference the names with other databases to locate an officer's residence, telephone number and undercover status.

It's unclear what the Aryan brotherhood would do with that information, but it's enough to concern the FBI.

"If it has to do with a threatening situation, whether it’s terrorism or whether it's other kinds of threats, it's better to be ready," said Casey.

The bulletin also warns of another possible threat. Members of the Aryan Circle, working on behalf of the Aryan Brotherhood, are threatening to break into the homes and cars of local police officers in order to obtain weapons.

The FBI says an intelligence bulletin does not guarantee that the threat will come true. It does mean there's enough information to at least issue a warning.

And just as I go to post this, CNN is doing a story on it.

Kwaps should be scared. They run around like a bunch of goons and just assume that people cannot find out who they are, where they live, etc.

The average kwan is of such low quality that he'd shoot himself if he had any self awareness.
