GRAND JUNCTION – Investigators now suspect foul play in the disappearance of a woman they say was working for an escort service.

Paige Birgfeld, 34, has worked in the sex industry for a number of years, according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. They believe she was involved with an alleged escort service called Models, Inc. where she used the name "Carrie."

Birgfeld, a mother of three children, disappeared on June 28. Her car was found on July 1 after it was set on fire on 23 Road, south of Interstate 70 about two miles from her home.

Her father, Frank Birgfeld, says he talked to his daughter at 9 p.m. the night she vanished, and she seemed like her normal self.

"After that she just disappeared. Her car disappeared. Her phone went right to voicemail meaning either the battery went down or she turned it off. She never would have turned it off," he said.

Frank Birgfeld is asking anyone with information about her disappearance to come forward.

"We're looking for whatever kind of lead we can get to fill in the gaps and see where she is," he said.

Sheriff's investigators say they are looking at several persons of interest in the case. They are men who are known to have been in contact with Birgfeld, or her escort service, in the days before her disappearance.
