[/And a number of Italian politicians and the French ambassador to Italy issued a strong rebuke to remarks made by Roberto Calderoli, the former minister of reform and a member of the right-wing National Alliance Party. After the Cup victory he said that the Italians had vanquished a French team that was comprised of “Negroes, communists and Moslems.” Italian soccer is no stranger to extremist politics. Italian football matches are often used as a platform for far-right fans to express racist sentiments.

Yeah, the Italians played dirty, but I was glad they won, for what little interest I have in soccer. I'm reminded of the movie BREAKING AWAY, where a blonde American kid tries to pretend he's Italian and competes in a bike race with the italian Cinzano team. he catches up with him, banters with them like a little puppy, and one of them sticks a stick in his bike, sending him sprawling. Kind of what happens to all whiggers. I also remember an italian film BREAD AND CHOCOLATE, where an Italian tries to stay in Switzerland and live with Germans, whom he thinks more superior than his fellow Sicilians. He even dyes his hair blonde and goes to a pub and plays being Deutsch until the TV shows a soccer match between italy and Switzerland, and he loses it when the italian team scores...really funny. Also a good scene where these Sicilians work in a chicken farm, and one misshapen, dark girl runs off and watches blonde germans swim naked in a stream, ride horses, and she's enraptured with them...very strong racial comment. Sorry if this is off-topic, but Italy is, I think, very race concious.I'm sure they felt they whacked the Moros.
The match started with both side scoring in the first 20 minutes, then became more of stalemate. Only the crossbar stopped Toni's shot for Italy. An Italian goal was disallowed for a dubious offside. By the end of the match France was dominating, and Buffon made a couple of stunning saves.

As far as the drama queens goes, practically all athletes are. The sports papers makes it out to be like a soap-opera see who saying what etc. They’re held as gods by the media generating revenues from advertisements.
Frankly, its annoying .The over paid athletes should just play the game and shut up.
Years ago, when the season was over, athletes went back to they're regular jobs.
