"At the same time, I think the government should draw the line somewhere. How you do it is the question," Alexander Garbuz said.
The U.S. government claim that it's impossible to seal the border with Mexico is patently false, according to Garbuz, who said he worked on a border post along the much longer Russian border.
"You can seal the border so that nobody can get through it," he said.
As for the idea that some Americans are philosophically opposed to a militarized border - that's what he means about Americans being naive, he said.
