Wonderful PC at work again.
Well maybe if the idiot would stop speaking mexican on TV in the USA then there would be no need for any "racially insensitive" comments.

Detroit, MI (AHN) - Fox broadcaster Steve Lyons was fired for making racially inappropriate comments about Lou Piniella and his Hispanic heritage during Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.
Piniella made a comparison to the A's coming back in the series and the luck of finding a wallet. Piniella went on to use a few Spanish-speaking phrases, which prompted Lyons to respond.
Lyons said that Piniella was "hablaing Espanol" -- mispronouncing the phrase which means "to speak." Lyons also said, "I still can't find my wallet" and "I don't understand him, and I don't want to sit too close to him now" in regards to Piniella.
Lyons claimed it was only friendly, on-air banter.
He said in a phone interview with The AP, "If I offended anybody, I'm truly sorry. But my comment about Lou taking my wallet was a joke and in no way racially motivated."
Lyons had been working the booth with Piniella and play-by-play announcer Thom Brennaman.
Fox spokesman Dave Bell said in a statement on Saturday, "Steve Lyons has been relieved of his Fox Sports duties for making comments on air that the company found inappropriate."
Piniella said during the telecast that Frank Thomas and the A's needed to get "en fuego," which means hot in Spanish. When asked about Lyons' dismissal on Saturday, all Piniella said was, "No, he's not here today."
Lyons has a history of controversial remarks on television. In 2004, he criticized Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Shawn Green for missing two games that took place during the Yom Kippur holiday.
This season, while working the Mets-Dodgers NLDS, Lyons made fun of a nearly-blind fan who was wearing large glasses to watch the game.
Lyons was nicknamed "Psycho" by teammates during his nine-year career as a utility player. Lyons once pulled down his pants in the middle of an argument with an umpire.

Any excuse to come down on whitey , any excuse !
Reminds me of so many similar instances , especially the incident with Jimmy the Greek and his innocuous comment .

Oh gawd! This stuff just gets more over the top all of the time it seems. Do the people who constantly peddle this crap believe that this is viewed in anything less then a negative way? There is going to be a breaking point and they don't seem to be able to see this. Does it ever occur to the fools that preach and actually believe in "the values of diversity" that something just is not working if people have to keep on walking around on eggshells and be punished for the slightest little insensitive comment whenever the fussy babies cry enough?
