In other words, by forfeiting his bail money to the city, Smollett had to pay a $10,000 fine. No jail or prison time. (Big money says that, if he were White, he’d be looking at 10 years in federal prison. By the way, the judge, a Black Democrat, “sealed the case file.” Why? And how many of the prosecutors involved in the Smollett case were Black?). [Article].
