Guardian Angels yet to take flight in Kingston

KINGSTON - Mayor James Sottile on Thursday criticized a city lawmaker for "hoodwinking" the community into believing a local Guardian Angels chapter would be established, when, in fact, it has yet to materialize.

Alderman Leonard Walker, D-Ward 3, who brought leaders of the unarmed crimefighting group to Kingston, said he has had difficulty finding a place to train volunteers and has received little support from fellow lawmakers.

Common Council Minority Leader Richard Cahill Jr., R-Ward 6, said the mayor ought to stop being critical of Walker and help him get the chapter started and patrols out on the street.

I think the biggest problem was that NO non-Whites showed up to join...other than Mr. Walker that is. I offered to join but was turned down...perhaps because I'm "too White"?

Does anyone find it a bit odd that my country allowed me to serve for two years with the 101st Airborne (502 Inf) during the Vietnam war, but Curtis Sliwa wouldn't allow me to join his Guardian Angels because I chose to wear a "Hal Turner Mighty Whities" T-shirt?

Funny that the hypocrites who were so concerned with the potential Guardian Angels not being "diverse" enough are either from the school board, KHS, City Hall, the KPD, etc., which are ALL "lily-White." I seem to remember seeing ONE black face at City Hall when I went to pick up the permit for the "hate" rally on November 19 last year.

How many Negroes work at City Hall? How many Negroes are on the police force? How many Negroes are teachers in the school system? How many Negroes are on the school board?

BTW...what's this I hear about a White kid being suspended from KHS the other day for using the "N" word??? Isn't the dreaded "N" word the most used word at KHS???
