Diabetic + Kwaps = COMA
(this might be a nigger judging by the name, but it is still rather digusting considering kwaps should be better trained how to tell a diabetic from a drunk. Even having a medical episode gives these kwaps an "IN" to beat you and arrest you)
Family: Man Beaten By Police During Diabetic Attack

Relatives of a diabetic man left in a coma after a confrontation with police say they believe officers used excessive force in subduing him as they mistook a medical problem for being drunk.
Officers reported using pepper spray on Jerome Clement and hitting him three times with a baton as they tried to arrest him on Aug. 24 after an employee at an East Chicago scrap yard called about an apparent drunken driver on the property.
Clement, 39, remained in a coma and in critical condition Thursday night at St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago, said his uncle, Philip Jordon.
The city's police chief said he believed officers acted properly, but Jordon said the police reports of the arrest had conflicting information and that the family was uncertain what caused him to go into cardiac arrest.
"He got hit in the face multiple times with a night stick, he got Maced, he got threatened with a dog," Jordon told The Associated Press. "At the point they found him, he was not even able to walk."
The officers reported that Clement, who was passed out when they arrived, smelled intoxicated and that when they to wake him up, he rolled his head around and spoke in slurred, incomprehensible tones.
An officer tried to pull Clement, described as 6-feet-1 and weighing 200 pounds, from the car, but he resisted and then tried to punch officers, a police report said. One of the officers then hit Clement in the face with a two-second burst of pepper spray, but he continued to struggle and kick at officers before one of them him with a baton.
As paramedics were treating Clement at the scene, his breathing and pulse stopped but they were able to restore his pulse as he was taken to St. Catherine's Hospital.
Police Chief Robert Machuca defended his officers.
"They responded appropriately, given the situation," Machuca said. "They believed he was drunk, and he was very combative, so they took him into custody."
An attorney for Clement's family said a lawsuit was being considered and that a judge had ordered that all evidence in the case be preserved.
"Something went very wrong here," said the lawyer, Kevin Smith. "The police could have handled this so easily. The family and I believe the police should have known this was a person suffering from a medical condition, not a drunk who posed a threat to them."
Clement appeared to be having a slight diabetic reaction when he left home to return to work, and his grandmother, with whom he lives, found out he was hospitalized after calling to check on whether he had arrived, said Jordon, his uncle.
"The neurologist has already told us that he's probably got moderate to severe brain damage and that it's just going to be a matter of time," Jordon said.
People suffering diabetic episodes sometimes give off an odor similar to liquor, said Rose Flinchum, a diabetes educator at The Methodist Hospitals' diabetes center in Gary.
"People suffering (diabetic ketoacidosis) are often very weak, or groggy," Flinchum said. "Sometimes there is confusion. They can be belligerent, depending on how it's affecting them."
Machuca said the department was awaiting the results of toxicology tests on Clement.
He said officers rarely saw such situations and that he was considering whether to have a class for officers on recognizing medical attacks.
"I haven't seen it for a while, and I've been on the department for 21 years," he said.

Why in the world would you hit someone in the face with a nightstick? In my misspent youth, I received training on the PR-24 Side handled baton. Swinging it, we were taught to only hit the upper arms, the fore arms, the thighs, and the lower legs. An overhand swing to the collar bone was a guaranteed broken bone. We were taught to hit with the end of the stick to the solar plexus. Along with various holds and takedowns using the side handle. To hit someone anywhere else was to invite serious injury or death. So it seems these pigs were either poorly trained or a bunch of gung ho zoglings crazed with power.

My dad once had the completely opposite experience. He is a diabetic and he had just gotten back from a fishing weekend with his buddies and he was a bit over the legal limit. He had been wearing a medical alert necklace identifying him as diabetic and he was able to convince the stupid cops that pulled him over that his less then perfect driving and unsteadiness was due to the fact that he was having an insulin reaction.
they did not bother to give him a breathalyzer or anything and they ended up driving him home(only a couple of blocks)

Even if this guy WAS black, I'm wondering why the cops deemed it necessary to give him a damn concussion! Don't they have tasers for these types of issues now? Every cop should be issued a taser. Think of it this way, a bunch of tasers ARE going to be pretty expensive, but likely MUCH less expensive than just one lawsuit. Being tased has to suck, I've seen the videotaped tests as well as police videos of people getting tased. But I'll take a few seconds of excrutiating pain over a potentially deadly concussion that at the LEAST is going to drop my IQ a few points.
And kwaps, I like that!
This probably WAS an issue of power crazed cops. They think that their badge is a license to be a badass. Well, Officer Rambo, guess what? It's not. I hope the cop in question gets his ass sued off and is never able to dig his way out of the debt!

The EXACT same thing happened a couple of years ago near me, in a small town. White cops and an ELDERLY White victim. The old guy, having an insulin reaction, was in a phone booth (apparently trying to call someone to come help him) when the cops came along and started wailing on him with their batons. Luckily for the victim, a woman who knew him saw what was going on and jumped in telling the cops the old guy was diabetic. No charges or lawsuits were filed to my knowledge.
Public intoxication, or any condition that cops can claim resembled intoxication = freedom for cops to practice torture. Fuck all cops.

There's not enough info in the article to reach a conclusion either way. It may seem like the kwaps went over the top, but we don't even know if it was a feral nigger chimping out or not. They haven't even determined whether or not he was drunk.

You bet I realize their CAREERS in "law enforcement" are on the line. And I hope they LOSE those careers due to this gross display of excessive, unwarranted force!

Diabetic Man In Coma After Arrest
Family To Take Clement Off Life Support

EAST CHICAGO, Ind. -- An East Chicago man was laying in a coma on Thursday after being arrested by police.
Jerome Clement was having a diabetic seizure, family and friends told NBC5's Amy Jacobson, but East Chicago police said they thought the 39-year-old Clement was drunk and belligerent, so they arrested him. Clement, who has been diabetic since he was 11 years old, had a heart attack while he was being arrested, and was on life support.
Clement's family said they would take Clement off of life support this weekend, and said they were considering their legal options, and a Lake County judge has already ordered all of the evidence in this case to be preserved.
Last Friday, Clement was in his car when someone called the police claiming a man was passed out and needed help. Jacobson reported that when police said they arrived, they allegedly smelled alcohol and claimed Clement was kicking them and resisting arrest.
Phyllis Jordan, Clement's grandmother, said it was impossible for her grandson to have been drunk.
"He doesn't go any place except to stay home," she said. "He does not drink. Never in the last 20 years."
The family's attorney said he believed police mistook his diabetic episode for belligerent drunkenness.
"We just believe this is something that shouldn't have happened," said Kevin Smith. "We believe that hopefully that, as I think the chief of police in East Chicago said today, that they should have had a class on this."
Clement, who was a welder in the area, has had seizures at work, friends said.
"He couldn't control himself and stuff like that," said Christopher Lesinewski. "He fell to the ground and he was shaking and everything else like that. Somebody ran and they got like a few Tootsie Rolls and stuff like that and put them in his mouth."
Clement has lived with his grandmother since his mother passed away, and both have looked out for one another.
"My grandson means the world to me," Jordan said. "He takes care of me, I take care of him. We're like two people born together."
Late Thursday afternoon, East Chicago Police Chief Angelo Machuca Jr. in a statement said "As police officers, we are confronted with many scenarios in which difficult decisions must be made within seconds. I will stand by the decisions made by the officers who responded to this call."

I suspected his Whiteness when the article said he was going to work when it happened.
I can't take credit for "Kwaps". I think I read it on vnnf.
I'm sure the cops in East Chicago have a dangerous job but every cop I see nowadays has a taser. I'm sure that will be brought up at the trial. One of these kwaps had one, I feel confidant.

And exactly what are they going to do for a living, slaughter animals? Dive into buckets of minks to wring their necks at the local fur farm? Beat baby seals to death with batons? Oh they are qualified sure enough, and would take great pride and enjoyment in such employment, but do you realize those jobs pay about half the amount these brave crime fighters make terrorizing bewildered data entry clerks during traffic stops?
Maybe you just don't care about our police force, and if that is true you sicken me.

Give me a DAMN break! Why should WE care about a bunch of cops who are definitely NOT LOOKING OUT FOR OUR INTERESTS AND BEAT, TORTURE, ARREST, and RUIN WHITE PEOPLE!?!? I have known too many who are like this, and when the proverbial shit hits the fan, I'm not going to take the time to figure out which is which!
