Cops: Woman in temple kicks police officer in the face

Police said they responded to a large disturbance at the temple at 131 Washington Ave. Sunday at 2 a.m.
The officer, who was not identified, was kicked while he and other officers tried to disperse a crowd of about 200 people, police said. The officer was taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, where he was treated and released.
Dellashawn Gillespie, 25, was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer. Her arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
