A 15-year-old Lima boy was shot in the back Thursday evening while entering an apartment building on Lima’s north side, the Lima Police Department reported.

Lt. Chip Protsman said the shooting occurred at about 8:05 p.m. at 531 Brower Road.

Protsman said the boy was walking into the building when he was shot in the lower back. He was transported by MedCorp to St. Rita’s Medical Center, where information on his condition was not available.

Protsman did not have the boy’s name and he said police officers did not have a suspect late Thursday evening. He said detectives are investigating the case.
