This has Jew written all over it. Someone is going to tell me that these southern states are more corrupt than places that contain cities like Chicago, Detroit and New York City.

This looks like just another stab at southern people.

Report: LA is most corrupt

Louisiana is the most corrupt state in the nation according to a new report.

The weekly watchdog publication "Corporate Crime Reporter" lists Louisiana as the "most corrupt state in the U.S."

The ranking is based on total public corruption convictions over a ten year period - per 100,000 residents.

Public Affairs Research Council President Jim Brandt says the feds have had their hands full here. "I think we are the only state in country that has multiple federal crime taskforces in operation," says Brandt. He says the feds have set up shop in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

He says being the "most corrupt state" makes it harder to get needed recovery cash. "We have such a bright spot light on Louisiana with the post-Katrina recovery underway and the need for additional federal funding." He says it makes people think it's just the same old Louisiana. "It certainly raises more questions about the state, our image and whether we in fact have put that behind us."

The poll has Louisiana at #1 most corrupt, followed by Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama and Ohio.

Brandt says real, stringent ethics reform in the next legislature would go a long way to fight Louisiana's image of being inherently corrupt.
