There's an active group in Canada proposing something similar for marijuana possession. Small amounts would be OK, but possession for traficking would be illegal.

Would it be a 'bad thing' if dope were completely legalized? I presume the price would drop dramatically (even tho it's already cheap).

I would like to see all drugs legalized. Then, the dope heads, would all die of an overdose, and save us all the time, money, and effort, to rehabilitate them.

BINGO, that's exactly why they wont legalize it , too much government employment depends on it . Besides, where would the pretext for searching your car come from, if not for drugs .

There is no logical reason for why something like Marijuana should not be legalized. this is not even debatable in my mind. If anyone feels a need to jump in and call me a pothead(doppel,etc.) don't even waste your time, you will be ignored. For the heavier drugs I am starting to come to the conclusion that this would be the best thing also. Drugs are always going to be there and there will always be people who use and abuse them, whether they are legal or not. It seems most of the drug crimes are crimes of possession(that people are sitting in jail for possession of pot is beyond retarded) and dealing and stealing/robbing whatever it takes to get the money to buy the drugs that cost much more then they would if they were not illegal. People that get violent and blame it on being "high" should just be treated like the thugs that they are. I don't think there would be a huge amount of people that will do something like heroin or meth just because it is legal that would not do it if it was illegal(though that is still a very negative possiblity) lesser drugs like marijuana, are more likely.

Look what prohibition did. It made criminals millionaires while putting legitimate businessmen out of business. Then it gave the government (F.B.I) superpower against citizens while passing strict laws against guns and gutting out freedoms.
