Migration cannot be halted. In the past 25 years the number of migration in the world has doubled, and in the next dozen of years, the number will again increase twofold. On the one hand, migration brings benefits to the countries of origin of the migrants, as well as the host states and the migrants themselves. But on the other hand, the inherent risks of migration should not be forgotten.

Experts of the World bank believe that the economic effects of free movement of people across borders can amount to 39 trillion dollars within the next 25 years. In comparison, about 70 billion dollars are being spent at the present time to help poor countries.

Migration helps to provide jobs for the population, increase the GDP of countries, as well as to reduce the level of poverty. Highly qualified foreign specialists enhance the effectiveness of the economy, thus stimulating an inflow of investments. They invent new products and services, leading to more profits for companies and higher wages for the workers.

It was immigrants who founded the world famous Google and Intel. The unskilled migrants take up the menial jobs which the locals refuse to do, because they consider them degrading. Migrants work as house-helps, baby sitters, builders, refuse collectors and street cleaners, earning half or even a quarter of the salaries of the local employees. Migration has become a global phenomenon that can no longer be stopped.
