Minuteman Start the Border Fence

Buenos nachos, muchachos. The Minutemen had fun today. I have no idea how many turned out for this weekend’s border watch and fence building festivities, but all day was like a reunion with people popping in from all over the country. At a guess I’d say about 30 states had representation. This may take some time to load as I picked ten shots out of 241 that I took during the course of the day.

Things kicked off about 7:00 as people started to arrive at headquarters and sign in for fence building and/or border watch shifts. At 9:00 the first convoy headed out to the fence site, with the second following about 20 minutes later. Each convoy was about a mile in length, so we had to split them up to keep from snarling up traffic in Palominas. I was glad to be towards the front of the first convoy as the last few miles were on dirt roads. Talk about dust – I think I wore an acre of that ranch home.

These first two shots were taken shortly after arrival while various last minute preps were made.

Chris Simcox kicked things off by introducing some very generous people.

First up, Colin Hanna of WeNeedaFence.com with a donation of $2,500 for materials. Another gent in the crowd who did not give his name added $500 in cash.

Then the jaw-dropper. Jim Campbell, a builder from Phoenix, gave us a check for $100,000. He is also rounding up like-minded friends to make even more donations. This came out of the blue and really rocked the crowd.

Next up, Al Garza, executive director of Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. Al has his own fan club (for lack of a better word) down south as he happily goes head to head with the Mexican media – in Spanish. Univision sent their usual crew to catch Al at his best.

Don Goldwater, with any luck our next governor, promised that if he does make it, Seriff Joe Arpaio up in Maricopa County will not be the only one running a tent city jail – similar facilities will be here on the border and the inmates will be employed doing jobs Americans really don’t want to do.

Congressman Steve King of Iowa’s 5th district gave what must have been a great speech judging from the applause, but I was too far away to hear it. We had a sudden visit from Grupo Beta – a Mexican government organization charged with “trying” to protect migrants from banditos and such while they are still in Mexico. The five reporters who jumped the fence to interview them are breaking the laws of both countries.

That one patriot donated a $100,000 check! I hope this kind of enthusiasm can become infectious.

With so much at stake it has always puzzled me why WN is such a underfunded movement, you would think there would be more affluent Whites out there willing to help out. Although MM ain't exactly WN it's good to see some folks are starting to find a clue about the fundamental priorities -

A friend's wife emailed me some info on the Minute Men chapter in my area. I'm going to join up.

I'll say this for the Minutemen, they certainly are getting things going at the border. Not only are they doing good, but their actions make the government look like the inept assholes that they are. Thanks for sharing the photos. Pictures are worth a thousand words and more.
