The owners of the teams say they are in the business of "Sports Entertainment." Its amazing how many people think pro-sports are real, but then again, look at all the people that think "reality" shows like Jersey Shore are real even though the audition call asked for actors to "portray" Italians.

Former drivers have frequently accused NASCAR of fixing races, but they are ignored by the media. Sort of like your local news reports the scores of every game, then refuses to report how these same sports are being fixed. It is common to give a call to yield so the more popular driver will win.

NASCAR is a family owned organization and thus has an even easier time manipulating its events than other sports, most notably with "The Call" where some drivers are given word to yield to a more popular driver so that he may win because it would be best for sponsors

The only laws they have to worry about breaking have to do with gambling and providing entertainment for the price of the ticket.

Tony Stewart say exactly that same thing back in 2007 when he accused NASCAR of dictating the outcome of the race with a few well-placed caution flags?

drivers were still being warned that public criticism would not be tolerated and offenders would suffer a hefty fine. Yet now we have those same officials encouraging the drivers to start acting like rowdy ... well ... wrestlers.

Sometimes they will favor one car manufacturer, then mid-season they will change rules to favor another. Sponsorship money fuels the cars more than gasoline does
