A minibus taxi driver is in critical condition at a Zimbabwe Hospital after being relieved of his testicles in a quarrel of a US$1 bus fare

The man, Lovejoy Mutasa, was assaulted by a couple after he ordered them to disembark from his minibus as they’d refused to pay the $1 dollar per person fare, Zimbabwe’s Herald newspaper reports.

The prosecutor, Sharon Mashavira, told the magistrates court that the female member of the couple grabbed Mutasa’s genitals and tore them off with her mouth. Mutasa, at that point, reportedly lost consciousness while the male member of the couple fled.

She faces charges of attempted murder, while her “boyfriend” has yet to be apprehended.

The victim, Mutasa, is in hospital. Because of this, Mashavira told the court that the case cannot officially start as the extent of the victim’s injuries would first have to be assessed.

The magistrate informed the accused that she’d have to seek bail from a higher court but would remand her in custody until 23 September.
