Chris Rock's mom: Cracker Barrel discriminated

CHARLESTON, South Carolina (AP) -- Rose Rock, the mother of comedian Chris Rock, claims she was racially discriminated against when she was seated but ignored for a half hour at a Cracker Barrel restaurant along the South Carolina coast.
Rock said Tuesday she planned to sue the Lebanon, Tennessee-based company. A Cracker Barrel spokeswoman said the restaurant chain was investigating and taking the complaint "very seriously."
Cracker Barrel has in the past faced numerous lawsuits and a federal inquiry over complaints of refusing to serve black customers, discriminating against minority workers and firing gay employees. The company has taken steps to rebuild its folksy image and reach out to minorities.
[highlight]Rock, who is from Georgetown, said she and her 21-year-old daughter were the only blacks at the chain's Murrells Inlet restaurant in April. She said when she asked the manager about the delay she was told they could have a free meal.
"He never called over the waitresses and asked, 'Why did these people sit here for a half hour without service?' " she said. "The only thing he said was we could have a free meal and neither of us wanted to eat."[/highlight]

Cracker Barrel spokeswoman Julie Davis said the company doesn't "tolerate any form of discrimination."
"It has always been a violation of our policies and procedures and it is neither condoned nor allowed," she said. "We do not allow the type of behavior you are describing," Davis said.
Rock said she contacted the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission and was told her complaint would be handled, but "nothing ever happened."
The head of the commission, Jesse Washington, said Tuesday that after initial discussions, the complaint was finalized August 7 and his agency also was investigating. He would not comment on the complaint.
[highlight]"We get thousands of charges coming through here in the course of a year," he said.[/highlight] "It's not out of line -- the time frame on this. It is being investigated and we will be in touch with her when we have a report."
[highlight]The Rev. Al Sharpton will join Rock on Wednesday in South Carolina to announce that Sharpton's Action Network will finance the planned lawsuit.
"I'm getting reports from all over the country about Cracker Barrel," Sharpton said from New York on Tuesday.[/highlight]
He also said state officials are slow to act on such complaints.
"When people are talking about there is no more discrimination, a lot of it is because they are not following this stuff up," Sharpton said.
Cracker Barrel, established in 1969, operates 547 restaurants in 41 states, according to the company's Web site.
Georgetown is about 60 miles northeast of Charleston.

The nigger didn't want a free meal, she wanted the manager to berate the server in front of her and the whole restaurant and cause a big scene. They love being the center of attention.
I've been to busy restaurants on a friday or saturday night where I've had to wait a half-hour for service, its not that uncommon. I wasn't happy about it, but I didn't file a lawsuit.
The server was probably inexperienced and overwhelmed and didn't get around to them fast enough. Niggers like to exaggerate, the half-hour was more likely ten minutes. But who can blame a server for putting the black folks off for last, they're terrible patrons. Friends of mine in the restaurant business say they loathe serving niggers because they run you around, leave a big mess and don't tip.

Someone needs to open a Cracker Barrel just for niggers modeled on their success of targeting a certain culture with the atmosphere and menu.

And I remember the time I went to a Steak n Shake near the airport (black area now), and sat at the counter with waitressess and the manager ignoring me while four people after me (black) got immediate service. I wasn't even given a menu, and was the only person at the counter. I think with them, it's bruthuhs first, and I once went in S. Chicago and stopped at a gas station. There were about eight blacks sitting at the stoop and yakking with the attendant, and after giving me a long stare, did he finally amble over and fill my tank.

This story is a perfect example of why we Whites need to stop frequenting and supporting places like the cracker barrel. Not only are the ceo's cowering in fear of the uppity nigger and itz shyster lawyers, but they are now openly admitting that somehow niggers deserve a higher standing in our White lands than Whites do. Once again darius and jawheela take cuts in front of Whitey and smirk whilst doing so...
Let these slimy cock suckers at cracker barrel know that the niggers can have the fucking place, as far as we are concerned. We will be eating at home from now on.
Who wants to eat out anymore, anyway? It might have been feasible when Whites ran the kitchen, but now it just a health hazzard.

Interesting commentary on the subject:
October 19th, 2006 -- One of our favorite places to eat as a family is at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. The food is good, the prices reasonable, and, if you’re lucky, they’ll still have some homemade peach cobbler or lemon icebox pie in the back for dessert.
Chris Rock’s mom is in the news recently. If you haven’t been keeping up with the news, you might be asking yourself what does one of our favorite restaurants have to do with the mother of a well-known actor and stand-up comic (see some of his quotes here). Well, because of this (be sure to watch the segment link in the article).
We are white, and we’ve sat at Cracker Barrel for up to half an hour before being served, and it’s usually been during one of their busiest times (lunch or dinner crowd) or during a shift change, which apparently is when Mama Rock came in. As much as we enjoy Cracker Barrel, one of their shortcomings is how well customers are handled during a shift change. Quite frankly, most of the time service is awful at the restaurant during the changing of the servers. Mama Rock, being a frequent customer at Cracker Barrel before “the incident,” is undoubtedly well aware of this; most people who eat there are.
The manager at the Cracker Barrel in question apologized to Mama Rock and offered to expedite her meal personally. He even said that the restaurant would pick up the tab. Corporate HQ also followed up with a formal letter of apology and a gift basket. But because the manager did not bring over the server who was assigned to Mama Rock’s table and discipline said server in front of the entire establishment, Mama Rock and her youngling departed. Now anyone who has ever been in a management position, whether retail or service oriented, knows you don’t chew out the support staff in front of customers. That’s Basic Management 101. Mama Rock didn’t even bother to go up the chain of command at Cracker Barrel, which most people would consider to be the logical thing to do (especially after receiving the gift basket), but instead went straight to Little Big Brother.
However, Little Big Bro is apparently not moving fast enough for Mama Rock. Has any facet of the federal government moved faster than dirt? And, it doesn’t matter that the head of the commission, Jesse Washington, has said that they would be in touch with her when they had a report. Nope, Mama Rock now hasAl Sharpton and his Action Network (you may want to turn your sound down) in her corner, and they’re ready to sue.To summarize, a customer was not served in a timely fashion during a shift change at a national-chain restaurant. The manager of said restaurant apologized, offered to expedite the customer’s meal and not charge the customer for it. Said restaurant chain even followed up with a letter of apology and gift basket. But because the waitstaff was not publicly humiliated for what would appear to be an oversight while the customer was there, the sharks have been called in and neckties fashioned.
Did I leave out anything? Oh, yeah, the customer is black and the mother of a Hollywood Star, which is just the right combination to bring this story to national news forefront and worthy of Al Sharpton’s attention. I guess he’s been going through MSW (media spotlight withdrawal) shakes lately and needed a fix.
My own experience is that, during busy periods, it is not unusual to wait for 20 minutes or more before having your order taken at Cracker Barrel. This applies to everybody who goes there, and it happens nearly everytime the restaurant is busy.
I've come to believe that niggers now expect to be entertained by the beratement of whites in public, be it on televitz, or Hymiewood movies, or in person in a restaurant "just because."

When I was a kid in the early 50's my parents would often go to the Coon Chicken Inn for dinner. You never saw niggers inside that place. In the small town I grew up in there were signs at either end of town which read, "Nigger don't let the sun set on your black ass." Oh the good ol days for sure!
