Berserk Brother Beheads 5-Year-Old Sister on Her Birthday

Boston, MA (AHN) - Four Boston Police officers on Saturday forced themselves into an apartment and killed a 23-year-old man, who had just stabbed to death two of his sisters, before he could turn the kitchen knife on his other 9-year-old sister.

The officers broke down the door of the apartment on Belvoir Road to find Kerby Revelus going after his sister Sarafina after he had just decapitated his 5-year-old sister and stabbed to death his 17-year-old sister, the Boston Globe reported. The officers immediately shot and killed Revelus before he could do any more harm to Sarafina.

Sarafina was the one who called 911 at the urging of her older sister before she died. The girls' mother was at work at the time of the attack, and the grandmother was in the basement doing laundry, according to the Globe. It is not clear where the father was, or what the extent of his involvement with the family is.

Boston Police Chief Richard G. Wells Jr. said the attack was the worst incident he had ever seen in his 25 years on the force. Sarafina was taken to Boston Medical Center with stab wounds, but is expected to survive, Wells said.

The four officers involved in the shooting have received psychological counseling.

The 5-year-old sister had just celebrated her birthday. A birthday cake with five candles was found on the kitchen table.

A local Fox News affiliate reported that Revelus had prior arrests for violent crimes, including a 2004 domestic abuse arrest and a firearms offense that landed him in jail a few months ago.
