Frozen Body Found Inside Abandoned Warehouse
DETROIT -- A group of children found a man’s frozen body when they were playing inside an abandoned warehouse near the old train station in Downtown Detroit.
But Local 4 has learned it took several calls to police before the body was removed.
A local newspaper reporter said he got a tip and found the body Tuesday.
The reporter called 911, but police hadn't responded one day later.
The reporters said it took two more calls to 911 Wednesday before authorities recovered the body.
A message seeking comment was left for Detroit police before business hours Thursday.
Firefighters and police used saws and portable jackhammers to extricate the body Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators believe the body was there for several months.
