Former BURZUM leader and convicted murderer and arsonist Varg Vikernes (photo) (a.k.a. "Greven"), who has served 12 years out of a 21-year jail sentence, will not be released from prison just yet.

The Norwegian prison authorities have denied Vikernes' parole application, according to the newspaper Dagbladet.

Varg's attorney John Christian Elden says Vikernes' release is long overdue.

"He is disappointed by the decision because he feels he is ready to come back into the general community," says Elden.

Vikernes was convicted for the murder of MAYHEM frontman Øystein Aarseth and three counts of church burnings.

Vikernes has served 12 years out of the 21-year jail sentence, and in accordance with the previous legislation, he is due for parole. But during the years Vikernes spent behind bars, the government passed laws to increase the number of years required in time served before one can be considered for parole to 14 years for 21-year sentences, which is the most severe time-based punishment in Norway.

Elden says it is unreasonable that these new regulations are retroactive.

"We are baffled the Department of Justice chooses to use laws that came into effect nine years after he stared serving his sentence," says Elden.

Vikernes, 33, was known as Count Grishnackh in the days of his one-man music project BURZUM. A neo-Nazi today, he subscribes to "heathen Odalism' and is the creator of the far-right All Germanic Heathen Front.

He was imprisoned for 21 years in 1993 for the murder of former friend Oystein Aarseth, also known as Euronymous, whom he stabbed 23 times. Aarseth was another leading member of the black metal scene that caught the imagination of the Norwegian press after a series of arson attacks on churches back in the '90s.

Vikernes himself had also been found guilty of the arson of a church in Bergen. On his arrest, police found 100 kg of explosives in his home.

In October 2003, he failed to return to prison after being granted a short leave, and was later apprehended by police with an unloaded assault rifle, 700 rounds of ammo, and a handheld GPS system.

Thank you for posting this, Aryan Lord. I had been wondering myself, whether or not Varg would be released. He should be released, as he has served enough time. This is very disappointing news.

You don't think that there is never a reason for someone to kill another of the same race, do you? Talk of who amongst our race deserves killing, occurs frequently on this board. Namely race traitors and betrayers, child molestors, etc. Sometimes, a race needs some healthy culling.

Well, I wasn't going to comment on this because frankly, some beauford in a cozy Norwegian prison doesn't get my hard on, but since you axed.

Why was he dealing with a homosexual in the first place? Guy was pretty smart huh, killing a homo over a contract. That's real white activism.

Second, he burns magnificent church structures? If he's got a problem with Judeo-Xtains, he should have plugged them, don't you think? That would have been worth going to jail over.

Third, the punk had a rifle and 700 rnds of ammo. Was he going to kill jews or mudslum invaders, or was he going to go after more Whites? I don't buy into the "every white worth saving" philosophy, btw.

In the interests of Aryan unity I won't say anything else, like what I think of black metal or anyone that listens to it after the age of 15, but that's basically my take on what limited (too much for me) knowledge I have of this worthless to the movement murderer.

just a coupla comments on this 'Varg' character:
he gets a mention in 'Dreamer of the Day' a biography of Francis Parker Yockey by Kevin Coogan.
the 'mention' is in chptr LV: 'the mysterious book of Vles'
'Count Grishnackh' is by way of LOTR...an orc 'chief'...not mentioned in Jackson's brilliant screen adaptation(although vrs orc characters appear @ the appropriate junctures who could well be the same....they are, however, left nameless)
a somewhat inappropriate 'nick-name' for a WN one would have thought.

He has already served an extra 14 months for going AWOL so that should not be held against him.
What is wrong in this case is that they have changed the law about parole just a couple of years ago and they have made this law retrospective which is against all concepts of natural justice.
As far as his political beliefs are concerned that it is entirely irrelevant to the decision not to release him or it should be!
