A noose was found hanging outside the office of a black professor at Columbia University's Teachers College on Tuesday, police said.
A black female professor found the hangman's noose dangling from her door.
Janice Robinson, the Teachers College executive director, issued the following statement to the Teachers' College community:
"The police were here this morning because a hangman's noose was discovered on the office door of one of our African American faculty members. The incident has been reported to the New York City Police Department (Detectives Bureau of Manhattan) and is under active investigation by the Hate Crimes Task Force.
"The TC community and I deplore this hateful act, which violates every Teachers College and societal norm."
The NYPD's Hate Crimes unit is investigating the incident.
Teachers College officials planned a community meeting for Wednesday to discuss the incident.
Teachers College is a prestigious school for aspiring educators, and was rated the No. 1 graduate school of education by U.S. News & World Report.
Why is a noose something the police need to investigate? I suspect that NYPD would be better off locking up nigger criminals in the city.
The average kwan is of such low quality that he'd shoot himself if he had any self awareness.
