Yonkers man indicted for assault as hate crime
A Yonkers man has been indicted on charges of assault in the third degree as a hate crime.
Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said that John Deguisto, 56, beat up a Hispanic man because he was speaking Spanish.
On November 7, 2005, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Deguisto overheard José Rodriguez, a U.S. Postal Service worker, speaking Spanish to an employee at a Dunkin Donuts located at 1591 Central Park Avenue in Yonkers. Deguisto allegedly told the victim to stop speaking Spanish because he was in America.
Deguisto is charged with then standing outside the shop and waiting for the victim to exit. When Rodriguez left the store, Deguisto repeatedly struck him with his fist, fracturing the victim’s nose and causing lacerations to his face and eye area. One laceration above the victim’s eye required stitches. The police were called and Deguisto admitted to striking the victim.
Rodriguez was in his postal uniform at the time of the attack.
Assault in the Third Degree as a Hate Crime is punishable by a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

Hmmm, Deguisto... sounds Spanish to me. Is he a white man? Or a latino man would never be charged with a hate crime?

I couldn't find any information on "The name DeGuisto," or "The family DeGuisto," but it must be European. Every freaking first name or first name-middle name, I found associated with DeGuisto was blatantly Anglo-Saxon. Names like Karen, Terri, Kenny, William B., bunches of yuppie names.
Best guess: Italian or French.

Deguisto looks like an Italian name to me.

He told the Spic to speak English because he is in America. I think he is Italian as well.

So he told the spic to stop speaking Spanish, the noble spic ignored him and the guy went outside to wait for him to give him an ass kicking. Is that how we are supposed to believe it went down?:rolleyes:
I don't suppose the spic could have gotten all bent out of shape and said a few things back to the guy or threatened him or anything like that.

Big, big mistake. The mud probably had it coming, but this Deguisto guy fucked himself
royally by attacking a uniformed postal employee. Not good.

People are starting to get sick of these spics, to the point that they are willing to go to jail in order to let people know about it. This man sacrificed his freedom for his ideals. Now if only whites would unite...

'Di' is Italian, 'De' is Spanish. I think.
Italian names can have "De" also

I can't imagine they would charge a spic who beats up another spic with a hate crime, unless it could fall under "national origin" The guy was most likely white(italian or spanish)
