Long Island City - WABC, October 24, 2006) - Police have released surveillance video of a man they say attacked a Chinese food deliveryman in Long Island City, Queens on Monday.

Investigators say the suspect stabbed the victim three times while he was delivering food at the building on 21st Street. The 39-year-old victim is in the hospital in stable condition.
Investigators are still looking for the attacker who fled without taking anything.

Police say he is a young man about to commit a bloody and deadly crime. How do they know? As he runs down the stairs, he looks at the knife police say he just used to stab a deliveryman at least three times -- attacking him from behind.

It all happened outside Taisha Brown's apartment.

"I just heard all this boom, boom, boom, boom ... he was banging and stuff on the door ... trying to say help me and he didn't speak English so we couldn't really make out what he was saying but he was holding the Chinese food paper against his chest and that's when we saw all the blood," Brown said.

"My husband is a kind man, a hard working man," Tinly Shu says. "I worry about him but we are recent immigrants and there aren't many jobs for people who don't speak English."

Her husband worked at the Chinese food restaurant in Long Island City. Police say he was delivering food to a nearby building and looking for an apartment when he knocked on Brown's door.

"He knocked on the door and said Chinese food and we let him know he had the wrong apartment so he closed the door," she said.

Within just a couple of seconds of leaving Brown's door, the deliveryman was stabbed three times and started knocking all over again.

"I gave him an old towel to just apply pressure to his chest, we waited for 911 ... he was trying to call someone on his phone but once again he couldn't speak English so he kept trying to hand us the phone but the phone was full of blood," Brown said.

"He will survive his wounds," his wife says, but now police are looking for the man seen in the surveillance tape.
