Jews always have it both ways - then (fill in the year) everyone was anti-Semitic and poor Jews were insulted to their faces. Not like now (fill in any year), when only bad people would insult jews. They tell the same story every single decade. It never changes.
In those days they wore dog tags with the religion specified, didn't they? The soldier didn't make the dog tags himself, someone made it for him. I don't think it was a big fat secret what religion a soldier was. Why should it be?
For one thing, Jews are always belly aching "my rabbi said..." and also they whine for kosher when they know they can't have it just to get attention.
"Go, Nazis, Go!"
My father was a soldier in the American Army in WWII from the North East U.S. and whenever a Jew was mentioned, or he spoke about them, his face took on a sneer and he referred to them as, "dirty Jews." I think his type of anti-semitism was very common during the 1920's-1980's in America, and was usually based on personal experiences with members of the tribe, or from reading about their nefarious and despicable exploits.
