A COMPUTER expert with an "unhealthy addiction" was caught with 2,625 indecent images of teenage girls when police raided his Earley home.

But Christopher Lane, of Silverdale Road, escaped a jail sentence was given a three-year community rehabilitation order with a condition of on a sex offenders' programme.

Passing sentence at Reading Crown Court, Judge Anthony King said the 32-year-old had "clear emotional problems" after developing a deep interest in teen sex websites.

Richard Sharpe, prosecuting, told the court how images of girls under 16, some posing with adults, were found in a created folder downloaded from several websites onto Lane's computer.

Officers raided Lane's home on November 27, 2004 and he was charged on March 10, 2006 with 20 offences of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing them.
Lane, who now lives in Watford, admitted all the charges but Judge King sentenced him on two specimen counts of making indecent photographs of children and ordered the other 19 offences to lie on file.

Defence barrister Zoe Van-den Bosch said: "Mr Lane developed an unhealthy addiction to porn images of young women. He bought videos and subscribed to porn channels.

"He is an isolated individual and can't have relationships with women his age. If he was to go to prison, this would destroy him.

"He has a well-paid job and he is not a paedophile predator but suffers from strong psychological problems."

Judge King also put Lane's name on the sex offenders' register for three years and ordered him to pay £1,074 prosecution costs.

Jail would destroy him ?. He commited 20 offences to different children. Diesnt that destroy a child too. The system is really "fucked up". Not only have they lost hundreds of Paedophiles in England. But there is no room in the prisions either, so offenders are not being put inside. Life really sucks.
