This guy’s big mouth is his real handicap.

A Bronx paraplegic who was allegedly acting as the getaway driver during a deadly East Harlem stickup would have made a clean escape — if only he hadn’t mouthed off to a homeless man looking for change, law enforcement sources told The Post.

Wayne Stewart, a reputed gang leader who lost one leg and can’t use the other, was allegedly waiting for his accomplices in a handicapped-equipped rental car when he chastised the beggar for claiming to be disabled.

Stewart was busted later — after the bum, still seething over the insult, happily put cops on his trail.

“Why don’t you get a job?” Stewart had snapped at the man, who approached him while he parked on Lexington Avenue between East 121st and 122nd streets, according to sources.

The homeless man replied that he couldn’t work because he was disabled.

The 37-year-old gang leader showed no sympathy, apparently proud of how he had overcome his obstacles to hold down his own “job.”

“I am, too!” shouted Stewart, who lost the use of his legs 12 years ago in a shootout with cops.

He then showed the beggar the special controls in his rented getaway car that allowed him to operate the gas and brake with his hands.

Meanwhile, Stewart’s pals were allegedly demanding money from a crew of Harlem pimps trying to sell a 16-year-old girl for sex.

When the flesh peddlers refused to hand over cash, Stewart’s suspected cohort, Raheem Barnes, allegedly shot one in the head, killing him, sources said.

He then allegedly fired on a car that other members of the crew were riding in, hitting two.

Barnes and another of Stewart’s pals hopped into the handicapped-equipped car and rode off.

Despite their leader’s disability, the gang seemed to have made a clean getaway.

But when cops canvassed the area, they came upon the bitter homeless man, who told all.

Cop tracked down Stewart after finding surveillance video of the car the vagrant described. They found out Stewart had rented it from Enterprise.

Stewart, due back in court next month, was soon arrested in the violence, which took place in July, and charged with murder and weapons possession, the police complaint says.

From a bed at Bellevue Hospital’s prison ward, Stewart maintained his innocence, saying cops forged his confession.

“The only thing they’re getting me for is for my past,” he said. “I just want to get home to my mom.”

Stewart’s distraught mother, Patricia, said he was trying to begin a new chapter in his life , recording rap songs  and publishing a book titled “God’s Day Off,” though she never read it.

“I don’t know about driving that car, but he got himself in some serious trouble,” she said. “Before he got shot, he was a fancy dancer. He danced so good.”

How do you spell relief?
