What a shame! This window probably dated from the time the house was built in the early 1900's. It was probably all wavy and cool like old windows get. Niggers move in and this stuff gets broken.

Indianapolis, April 18, 2006 - A 15-year-old boy is dead and a 30-year-old woman is injured following a shooting at a home on the Indianapolis east side.

It happened after midnight in the 900 block of North Oakland.

Police say the shooter approached the front porch of the home and shot the victims through a window. The boy, Deandre Gaines, was shot in the chest and the woman, Beverly Longstreet, sustained injuries to her abdomen.

Detective Todd Lappin said Gaines got caught in an argument that escalated into gunfire. Police believe the suspect left the scene and then returned with a gun to open fire. The first bullet killed Gaines, while the second injured Longstreet.

Lappin said the neighborhood has seen its ups and downs. "We're asking people to join together in the community," he said, adding that police are canvassing the neighborhood in the hope of gaining more information about what happened.

Police are still looking for the suspect. Longstreet is listed in stable condition.
