Courts question Hawaiian school admissions policy

HONOLULU, Hawaii (AP) -- A wealthy private school created exclusively for its indigenous people is asking a federal appeals court to allow it to continue its race-based admissions policy.

Fifteen judges on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals were scheduled to hear arguments Tuesday in San Francisco about whether the Kamehameha Schools can continue to limit enrollment to Native Hawaiians.

While the courts have generally ruled against favoritism in education based on race, the Kamehameha case is different. The school receives no federal money. And its policy was based on the will of a Hawaiian princess 10 years before the monarchy was overthrown.

"Her whole intent was to provide a means for educating her people so they could compete in a society that was changing so quickly," said Kekoa Paulsen, a spokesman for Kamehameha Schools.

A three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit initially ruled 2-1 against Kamehameha's admissions policy last August. But the full court announced in February it would reconsider that decision. The admissions policy has remained in place while appeals are pending.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of an unnamed white student who was denied admission in 2003.

"We've had a lot of conflict, including the Civil War, about treating people differently based on their race. I think we're mostly past that, but unfortunately Kamehameha wants to go back to an era of privilege for citizens depending on what race you are," said Eric Grant, a Sacramento, California, attorney representing the boy, who recently graduated from a public school.

Kamehameha Schools was established under the 1883 will of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop as part of a trust now worth $6.8 billion. Part of the school's mission is to counteract historical disadvantages Native Hawaiians face in employment, education and society.

Admission to the elite school is first granted to all qualified Native Hawaiian students. Only one in eight eligible applicants get in, and tuition is 60 percent subsidized by the private trust.

Of 5,400 students enrolled at the school's three K-12 campuses, only two do not have Hawaiian ancestry.

The case is an emotional one here, with Native Hawaiians claiming they are rightfully entitled to a quality education, and taking that away would further undermine their culture.

Following the initial ruling against Kamehameha last year, 15,000 people marched through downtown Honolulu in protest.

"We're not asking for a handout. We're asking to be able to take care of our own," said Miki Kim, a 1976 Kamehameha Schools graduate who organized a rally last fall supporting the school. "This country is not fair."

And its policy was based on the will of a Hawaiian princess 10 years before the monarchy was overthrown.

That's right. And her definition of "Hawaiian" was quite moot (as legally argued retrospectively 120 or so years later), because Whites and even part-Whites born in Hawaii were legally defined in that era as "Hawaiians". Whites born there then of White parents themselves born there were legally citizens of the independent Kingdom of Hawaii. Our fine writer forgot to tell us that little detail.

The case is an emotional one here..

Should read "brown racist one here". But only Whites are racists.

I once heard the chink headmaster of Kamehameha Schools go onto Rick Hamada's show and make mention of "haoles". So I called up the show and said it's pretty dismaying to hear the Chinese PhD headmaster of a non-White, most highly endowed school in the nation (now around 7 or 8 BILLION I think) go on the air and refer to Whites right and left using a disparaging racial term.

There's always been dislike by Hawaiians of 'haoles'...whites. When schools started, it was always 'beat up a haole day'. Michael Savage recalls how his son was attacked by Hawaiians, and no doubt he's a little soured on multiculturalism by all the crap his kid took and he did for being white (or, being Jewish, semi-white according to Hawaiians). If Hawaii becomes independent again, what's to say the whites there will become the new 'boat people'?

This is good news.

Yes, Hawaiians are some of the most racist people on the face of the earth. Hopefully they will continue their separatist goal of Hawaiian Independence.

That's right. The faster they tell Whites to get the fuck out, the better it will be for a general increase in WN, and a jump from American Bolshevist Neo Con diversity provincialism. Whites will realize the Kwa can break up just like the USSR did. Even the War Between the States failed to establish that fact.

The TV commercials in the current campaign are very slick and beautifully filmed. The ethnic Hawaiians chosen for the ads all seem to have high native blood quantum and rich dark skin, even though about 75% of all ethnic Hawaiians have less than 25% native ancestry and even though we are bombarded with other propaganda that ethnic Hawaiians are more sickly than other groups. The people in the ads are dressed in a very "indigenous"-looking style, in costumes never seen in "real life" that are made of modern materials but imitate someone's dream of what ancient Hawaiians looked like. (In ancient times the women went topless; but unfortunately not in these ads!) In the ad running many times each day in March 2005 on every major TV channel on every island in Hawai'i, a half-naked man with rippling muscles shows how easy it is to break several individual sticks in half one by one (each with a loud snap). A group of sticks are then bundled together and tied with a red cord, and we see that the bundle cannot be broken. Thus, we have an Indian-style illustration of the saying common to all cultures, that "there's strength in numbers" or "the people united can never be defeated" or "unless we hang together we shall all hang separately."

OHA, the org promoting Kau Inoa (which means "place your name"), is funded by the taxpayers of the state of Hawaii. In one TV ad shown frequently at all hours, beams of light shoot all over a global map-- supposedly searching for the scattered Hawaiians to register their "bloodline" with Kau Inoa. Ha ha. Imagine if Whites in the world tried that little public relations trick. The kikes and Hawaiians and shabbez Multis would be johnny on the spot on our TV's explaining why it is "special" and "precious" in the case of Hawaiians, but racist and hateful for Whites to do the same.

Welcome Speech, Kau Inoa

(Enrollment for a Native Hawaiian Government)

January 17, 2004
Aloha e Na Ali`i o Na Lani, Na Kupuna, and Ohana. I am Mahealani Kamauu, Executive Director of the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation, and I am here to welcome you on this historic occasion.

Today we build upon the good works, the strong foundation of a great and loving people, a people against whom, 111 years ago today, a great crime was committed by the United States of America.

In spite of the great injury inflicted, the suffering endured, our people have preservered. During times of great challenge, whether in peacetime or in war, our people have looked to and answered the kahea of their leaders, leaders of proven wisdom, in order that the land and people might live; in order that pono might prevail.

Our people mobilized when America sought to take our country against our will.Nearly 40,000 kanaka, 100% of all eligible, signed petitions protesting the annexation of Hawaii. In modern times, the group called Volunteers for OHA registered 70,000 kanaka to sign up for the first OHA elections In these "signing ups", our Hawaiian people came forward willingly, full of trust, enthusiasm and optimism for the future. They were heard, full-voiced and eloquent.

Over the past two decades, we have been besieged by terrible challenges, and as the many dedicated among us searched for answers, for solutions, they selflessly and at great personal sacrifice organized and conducted more "signing ups", more registrations. Ka Lahui Hawaii, The Kingdom of Hawaii, The Lawful Government of Hawaii, The Reinstated Government of Hawaii, Ohana o Hawaii, Ha Hawaii and the Hawaiian Sovereignty Elections Council, resulting in The Native Hawaiian Convention, Na Oiwi o Hawaii; and in more recent times the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, its Oahu Council; the State Council of Hawaiian Homestead Associations; the Royal Order of Kamehameha -- all of these were organized for the express purpose or have recently made political autonomy and self-governance a focal point of their mission. Their continuing dedication, sacrifice and tireless efforts have brought kanaka maoli to this day in our history.

In a spirit of great humility and gratitude, OHA has acknowledged these good efforts and stepped forward to do its part. Kau Inoa is intended to be a broad-based effort to register all Hawaiians to create our own government. As with all great undertakings past, present, and future, there have been and will continue to be mistakes and missteps along the way. It is our sacred duty to hold OHA accountable, one another accountable, as beloved members of one ohana, but let us go forward, in an ever prayerful and righteous spirit. Let us be grateful for our strong spirit, sacred gift from our kupuna. Let us heed that spirit, as we continue to move along that immutable path toward full restoration of our nation.

From Fox News-
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,158963,00.html

One [color="Blue"]TV ad resembles a telecommunications commercial with neon blue lines on a world map tracing the purported links between Hawaiians. It urges Hawaiians all over the globe to help "build a nation."

"Hey Whitey-- how's about we build a White Nation?! Place your name!" and here go the neon blue television tracers...now how many seconds before the phones start ringing about the hate?

Any white who live's or stay's alive for one year in Hawaii will never be a White sheeple ever again. None rich Whites in Hawaii, are targets, and have been since the Civil Wrong movement of 1965. The anti-White severe violence started with the Viet Nam adventure and Media/drugs hitting the Islands. The mixed blood Asian's are openly hateful towards White's in State office's while on duty.

I meet White leftist liberial Women, who sadly got a real World education, and after dealing with the po-lice there, these women alomost had mental crack ups.

Isn't it strange that we talk least about the things we think about most?

We cannot allow the natural passions and prejudices of other peoples
to lead our country to destruction.

I guess is just a matter of time Hawaii will be under Japans imperial rule. Aren’t there a lot of Japs businessman/vacationers on the islands? From what I gather, they own and are buying up land and business as well..
