Quote:

“As I have said before, the statues on this beautiful street are Lost Cause myth and deception masquerading as history,” Stoney said in a press release. “The Commission’s report is unequivocal in its affirmation that there is an overwhelming desire and belief they should not remain as they currently are. Something needs to change, and I could not agree more.”

There is nothing on any of these statues that is myth. In fact, there is one word on Robert E. Lee's monument-LEE. On Matthew Fontaine Maury's monument-MAURY PATHFINDER OF THE SEAS. On Stonewall Jackson's and J. E. B. Stuart's monuments there are dates of birth and battles they died in fighting an invading yankee army. The Davis Monument honors Davis and all the branches of the Confederate armed forces. NOWHERE on these monuments are there any lies or myths. What is inscribed on these monuments directly contradicts what today's 'leaders' think of these monuments. The ones that fought the battles and placed these monuments know far more about why they fought than any of us alive do. THAT is what coconut head Stoney needs to be made to understand. This commission was stacked from the start. Marxism at its worst.

Nothing, of course, is mentioned in the 117 page report about the world's largest lawn jockey, the Arthur Ashe statue. Shouldn't he be reinterpreted as well for the sake of 'diversity?'
