What these dumbassed inspectors don't realize is that in Chinese cuisine roaches are used as garnish on more expensive plates, are often added to Won Ton soup for that extra energy rush and can be ground up and used as a seasoning.

100 roaches found; restaurant shut down

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL -- Officials from Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) ordered a Port St. Lucie restaurant close its doors May 27 after a sanitary inspector reported finding approximately 100 roaches in the facility.

China Town Restaurant, at 3243 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd, was allowed to reopen two days later, May 29, after an inspector's return visit found that the restaurant "met inspection standards".

On May 27, the state inspector reported approximately 21 live roaches on the dish machine, dish rack, under the prep table and on bulk food storage bins. The inspector also reported approximately 80 dead roaches in the facility, including approximately 3 dozen in a container with food storage lids and 2 dozen in the prep area.

In the same report, the inspector cited a repeat violation of employees handling food with their bare hands, a critical violation by Florida's inspection standards.

According to state records available in WPTV's Restaurant Report database, China Town restaurant has been fined three times since October 2007 for a total of $3050. Since May 2007, state inspection records show four instances of China Town Restaurant receiving 25 or more violations during a sanitary inspection.

Gold is the currency of kings; silver is the currency of gentlemen; barter is the currency of peasants, and debt is the currency of slaves.
