I was listening to the show with the guest host (the last two weeks have been nothing but guest hosts...a warning), and it was just announced Rush Limbaugh died from lung cancer.

They said 'passed away' but I like 'died.' A little more to the point.

Well, what do we say? As I thought a couple of months ago, an era has ended, that of talk radio. Limbaugh made new trails and opened a new venue, and once he was diagnosed with cancer, I knew he wouldn't be around much longer.

So, we have a huge vacancy in conservative media, and the eulogies will start pouring in. Also the cheering on the left. I imagine they'll be doing a snake dance in newsrooms everywhere.

I first heard Rush in 1991, when I was driving from Boston to Missouri, flipped on the radio when I just crossed the Ohio state line, and I was entranced. I never heard someone like him, and have listened to him ever since.

Thousands of people will say how he influenced them to get into politics, changed their lives, gave them hope, etc. He went to 800 radio stations across America. As the guest host just said, 'he was the voice of sanity to many American people.'

A lot of you don't share that, and you rightly note his failings. Okay, but he had an influence for conservatives...or cuckservatives...take your pick.

Well, let's turn it over to you.
