Miriam Leticia Malave was out on bail when she and three others allegedly attacked patrons and a bartender inside M&T Bar, 200 S. Main St., Shenandoah, on Wednesday night, according to county officials.

Schuylkill County District Attorney James P. Goodman said Friday that Malave, 36, of 114 W. Laurel St., is awaiting trial on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and other charges stemming from an alleged stabbing in Shenandoah in September.

She is now in county prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. Authorities allege Malave and three Hispanic males beat several white men inside the bar late Wednesday night. [color="Red"]Malave also allegedly hit bartender Melissa Elrod with a baseball bat and yelled, "All the whites will die tonight," during the fight.

No one else has been charged in connection with the brawl, according to Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker's office, Shenandoah.

Shenandoah Patrolman Robert Senape, investigating officer in the case, could not be reached for comment Friday. The status of the investigation remains unclear, and the three Hispanic males were not named in court documents.

Goodman said Malave could face additional charges and did not close the door on adding an ethnic intimidation charge.

"A decision will be made before the preliminary hearing," whether to add more charges, Goodman said. A date for that hearing has not been set.

Malave now faces two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, one count of making terroristic threats and one count of harassment, according to the criminal complaint.

Malave is also set to stand trial for the alleged September 2009 stabbing later this year, likely in the criminal court term beginning in June, Goodman said.

Authorities allege she stabbed a woman in the thigh and abdomen during a fight outside La Casita bar, 8 E. Centre St., Shenandoah.

Malave was also convicted of disorderly conduct in 2007 after an incident the previous year.

Malave and three Hispanic men tried to assault three people with baseball bats on Aug. 7, 2006, according to court records. Malave and the men instead began smashing the victims' cars with the bats before police arrived, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Authorities initially charged Malave with ethnic intimidation, but those charges were later dropped, according to records. Charges of criminal mischief, recklessly endangering another person and conspiracy were also dropped.
