James “King Tight” Blackston (23) and his friend – reported to be a 19-year-old musician who can’t be named for legal reasons – remain in police custody having been charged with the assault of Ms Furlong’s friend.
And while Ms Furlong was discovered on the floor of the musician’s hotel room, it is Mr Blackston who has attracted the attention of the global media.
Although the dancer’s Twitter and Myspace accounts have been disabled in the wake of the Tokyo killing, a portrait of a high-profile performer has emerged.
Mr Blackston has reportedly featured in several music videos for artists, including the Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown and J Lo.
Reports have put both men in Tokyo working for Japanese singer Ai Carina Uemura.
