Senior editor of Veterans Today, Gordon Duff says that there have been several planned assassination attempts against high-ranking American officials.

"We have very solid information that there’s been planned assassination attempts on several members of the government including the President, Vice President, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of State," Duff told Press TV's U.S. Desk in a phone interview on Tuesday.

In an article published by Press TV, the analyst wrote that President Barack Obama issued a press release last week that has been utterly ignored by the Western press.

He wrote, "The president has openly announced a move against violent plotters inside the U.S. government and espionage agents. He does not use the terms "AIPAC" or "the Israel lobby" but it is highly unlikely he could be referring to anything else. In fact, we can think of no other group."

Duff also wrote, "I was privately briefed on some of the reasons behind this document. On what is known, not "surmised," I will explain: There is, currently, within the U.S. military, the Executive branch of government and among extremist "power brokers" in America an active plot to "alter" America's form of government through "decapitation."

According to Duff's article, "Let me be clear. Where the memo, [printed in full in his article] refers to "violent", it means "assassination" of many top leaders in America including but not limited to the President, Vice President, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense and others."
