Islamic Republic is holding an international nuclear disarmament conference in Tehran on April 17-18, 2010. The theme of the conference would be: “Nuclear Enegy For All, Nuclear Weapon For None“. The conference is expected to be attended by foreign ministers, government officials and nuclear experts from 60 countries. the participants will dicuss how to establish a fair implemention of the Article 6 of Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) – which states that the signatories of NPT should hold negotiations in good faith on effective measures to the cessation of nuclear race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament under strict and effective international control by international Watchdog, IAEA.

The conference will also include an exibition of the victims of the Western-supplied chemical WMDs used by Saddam Hussein’s regime during the 1980-88 Iraq-Iran War and a tour of the historic city of Isfahan.

UNSC veto carrying China and pro-Israel India against the wishes of Washington – has announced to attend the conference at ambassador level. India’s ambassador in Tehran, Sanjay Singh, will represent his country at the conference. Chinese ambassador Liu Zhennim has announced to represent his country at the conference. Turkish foreign minister, Ahmet Davotoglu, has welcomed Iranian initiative and said in an interview he gave to Italian weekly magazine L’ Espresso, published on Saturday: “No country should possess nuclear weapons, not Iran or Israel or any other country. The Middle East should be a nuclear weapon-free zone”.

The foreign ministers of Venezuela, Cuba, Syria, Oman and Turkminstan have already confirmed their participation to the two-day conference in Tehran. Representatives from Russia, Brazil and South Africa are also expected to attend the conference.

Iranian president Dr. ahmadinejad in speech on Saturday exposed the hypocrisy of Obama’s pro-Israel administration: “They say they have extended a hand to Iran, but the Iranian government and nation declined to welcome that. What kind of hand did you extend toward the Iranian nation? What has changed? Did you lift sanctions? Did you stop propaganda? Did you reduce the pressure?”

Dr. Gordon Prather, who formerly worked as a nuclear weapon physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, Sandia National Laboratory in New Mexico, US Department of Defence, Department of Energy and Department of the Army – wrote in Anti-War.com on September 26, 2009, under the title Enough Rope Yet?:

Bonkers Bolton’s successors and acolytes in the Obama-Biden administration had attempted to get Iran singled out by name as an example of a State not in compliance with its NPT “obligations” – and hence, ineligible to enjoy the benefits of the peaceful use of atomic energy guaranteed them by the NPT – but the Russians and Chinese objected. Why did they object? Because as they – and the vast majority of the heads of state of the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the Arab League and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization – know, it is the United States which for decades has been in outrageous non-compliance with its NPT obligations.

Clinton-Gore and Bush-Cheney – aided and abetted by The Best Congress Money Can Buy (watch video at the bottom) – have done nothing but “discriminate” against Iran in blatant violation of the NPT, the IAEA Statute and the UN Charter, itself.

Now, surely Obama is not as dumb as Dubya. Surely he realizes what we have been doing to Iran for the past twenty years because it insists on exercising its inalienable rights under the NPT and the IAEA Statute and the UN Charter is not only illegal but immoral. Yet, Obama attempted to get the UN Security Council to essentially reprise all the past injustices committed by the Council against Iran at the instigation of Bonkers Bolton.

So, contrary to what you’ve been told, the real story was not at the Security Council, but at the UN General Assembly, where Iranian and Libyan et al heads of state were reiterating certain findings and recommendations made this past July by the Presidents and Heads of State of Members of the Non-Aligned Movement, about necessary changes that need to be made, immediately, in the way the Security Council is organized and “does business.”………
