Sons of Confederate Veterans Resolution
Condemning The KKK

WHEREAS, the members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans have sworn and
oath to protect and defend the honor and good name of all Confederate soldiers, sailors and marines, and

WHEREAS, the Sons of Confederate Veterans are the rightful heirs and
defenders of the battle flags under which the Confederate soldiers, sailors and marines fought and died, and

WHEREAS, the Confederate Armed Forces were comprised of men of many
races and religions, and

WHEREAS, after the war, the Confederate Veterans struggled and worked very hard to rebuild their lives, community and country, and

WHEREAS, the descendants of these Veterans are patriotic Americans who
have fought and died in every war since the War Between the States, and

WHEREAS, the Ku Klux Klan stands against everything we hold dear and have
dishonored the Confederate Battle Flag and Confederate Veterans, of which
thousands were Jewish, Catholic and African-American, and

WHEREAS, the Ku Klux Klan has rallied on the sacred soil of Sharpsburg,
Maryland and plans to rally at Gettysburg and other battlefields of the War
Between the States,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sons of Confederate
Veterans condemns the Ku Klux Klan and their racist anti-American actions
both Past and Present.

A majority of the Camps concurring, this resolution is hereby adopted this 5th
day of August at Orleans Parrish, Louisiana in the year of our Lord, 2006.
