So, according to your logic, if a couple has kids (doesn't matter how many), and the husband is laid off (due to outsourcing or whatever)or dies, and the mother has to get a temporary job at a fast food restuarant in order to make ends meet until she can pick up the pieces, she becomes white trash, right?

There are a few different reasons why there could be no father in the home. It is not always going to be the fault of the woman or that she did something wrong. Besides the scenerio in the post above there is also the possibility that the father could have left the family at some point, because being a daddy is not much fun and brings with it too many responsibilities, or some crap like that.
