Donald Trump's penchant for Twitter trouble struck again late Tuesday and early Wednesday just as the Republican businessman was filing his presidential candidacy papers in New Hampshire.
Trump had retweeted a photo collage of anti-Jeb Bush images late Tuesday, including one which showed the former Florida governor next to a Nazi swastika and another showing Bush dressed up as a musician in a mariachi band, complete with a sombrero.
The image has been removed from Trump's Twitter page but a cached version was still widely circulating by mid-day Wednesday.
Asked if the Tweet was another mistake by an intern - as the campaign has said in similar past circumstances - Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said: 'No, that was Mr. Trump.'
'This was retweeted by Mr. Trump like hundreds of others. He did not see the accompanying image and the retweet has since been deleted.'

In a live-streamed interview with ABC News on Wednesday morning, Bush said Trump must have 'intern problems.'
'They must drink at night and go crazy,' he said.
Told that Trump's campaign has acknowledged that he sent the retweet himself, Bush said, 'He needs to stop tweeting at night. I think that might be advice for the Donald.'
Tuesday was far from the first time Trump's tweets have raised eyebrows.
In July, he was forced to delete a jab he took over Twitter at Bush's wife, Columba, who was born in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, after Bush had criticized Trump's rant against illegal immigrants from Mexico in his mid-June candidacy announcement.
That was also a retweet: 'Jeb Bush has to like the Mexican illegals because of his wife,' the message said.
That same month, the billionaire's Twitter page posted a picture showing his face through a gauzy image of the American flag and showing what appeared to be Nazi SS soldiers next to the White House, a $100 bill, and the slogan 'We need real leadership. We need results. Let's put the U.S. back into business!'
Trump's campaign deleted the Tweet and blamed it on an intern.
In September, Trump retweeted what appeared to be a criticism of Iowa voters: '@mygreenhippo #BenCarson is now leading in the #polls in #Iowa. Too much #Monsanto in the #corn creates issues in the brain? #Trump #GOP.'
Trump's campaign blamed that on an intern as well.
On Tuesday, Trump's own Twitter followers slammed him for the anti-Bush image.
'Tweeting out swastikas and racial stereotypes to attack @jebBush. Very grown up,' one man wrote.
Trump is in Concord, New Hampshire on Wednesday, filing his candidacy papers at the secretary of state's office in the Statehouse.
He has been deposed as the Republican front-runner in the most recent average of major, national polls as compiled by Real Clear Politics.
