In November 2016, Donald Trump claimed on Twitter—and has repeated the claim several times since then—that illegal immigrants from the Third World were fraudulently taking part in US elections—and now, as more and more cases are prosecuted in the courts, his opponents will have to start admitting that he was right.

In one of the latest cases, as detailed in an August 9, 2018 press release on the Department of Justice’s official website, a Mexican by the name of Roberto Hernandez-Cuarenta (57) was sentenced to four month’s imprisonment on two counts of Voting by Alien.

Hernandez-Cuarenta, who lives in Zebulon, North Carolina, “knowing he was not a United States Citizen, did knowingly vote in two elections held in part for the purpose of electing a candidate for the Office of President, Vice President, and Member of the House of Representative,” on November 6, 2012 and November 8, 2016, the DOJ statement said.

The DOJ press release service lists a string of similar cases it has overseen over the past few months.

In June 2018, for example, a Salvadoran national named Mario Obdulio Orellana (57) was indicted on Immigration and Voter Fraud Violations in East Texas.

Orellana was named in a five-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury on June 6, 2018 charging him with two counts of false representation of U.S. citizenship, false statement in application for a passport, unauthorized use of a Social Security number, and voter fraud.

According to the information presented in court, Orellana is alleged to have illegally entered the United States from El Salvador in the early 1980s. In 1987, while illegally residing in Shelby County, Texas, Orellana is alleged to have used falsified documents to obtain a birth certificate showing he was born in the United States; a passport as a U.S. citizen; and a social security number and register to vote as a U.S. citizen.

Furthermore, Orellana fraudulently voted in the November 2016 election.

In October 2017, Nigerian national Kunlay Sodipo was sentenced to 78 months in prison on a number of charges including a $12 million tax refund fraud, illegal reentry and felon in possession of firearm, mail fraud, aggravated identity theft, and voter fraud.

According to the indictment, Sodipo “and others” stole public school employees’ IDs from a payroll company and used them to electronically file more than 2000 fraudulent federal income tax returns seeking more than $12 million in refunds.
