via New Twitter icons help Muslims celebrate Ramadan – Telegraph.

Twitter has launched new hashtag icons for Ramadan and Eid to help 1.5 billion Muslims around the world celebrate the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

Another feature will help Muslims find out what time each day they can break their fast. From tomorrow they will be able to tweet @AlArabiya with #iftar followed by the name of their city. They will then receive a reply with what time they are allowed to eat. It will also work for #Imsak, or the beginning of the fast.

Twitter’s Ahmad AbouAmmo said in a blog post announcing the new features: “Use hashtags to tweet how your neighborhood, city or country is celebrating the month and connect with others across the world who are also observing and celebrating Ramadan.”

“Ramadan is an important event around the world — full of celebration, friends and families. We look forward to seeing how many of you come together to share these special moments on Twitter.”

Regular readers here know that Ramadan is the “month of jihad” – according to Muslims themselves.
