According to an initial investigation, the helicopters apparently made contact in mid-air and then prepared for an emergency landing that went awry.
Rescue teams found the first chopper and were able to locate the second one minutes later.
A witness told Ynet that he and his friends noticed an air craft descending. "I told my friends, 'look something is falling out of the sky, it's going to crash.' After a few minutes I heard ambulances and I saw IDF forces and police heading to the area where the helicopter fell," the witness said.
The crash was also seen well in Metula. Shahar Gamilel recounted: "A few of us were sitting on the porch in my father's house, where you can see Emek Hahula and the Kiryat Shmona area. At a certain stage I saw a strong flash in the sky and balls of fire began to fall. After a few seconds an explosion was heard and then there was quiet."
Gamliel said that in the minutes before the crash no rockets were heard or seen in the area in which the helicopter crashed.
Another eyewitness said, “I was in Tel Chai when I suddenly heard a boom. I thought it was another rocket, but then rumors began to spread and when we arrived at the scene we saw a helicopter crashed on the mountainside.”
Mevuot Hermon Regional Council head Benny Ben Muvhar said, ‘luckily the helicopter tried to perform an emergency landing - because it was carrying a lot of ammunition and it could have caused major explosions. I couldn’t help but recall the helicopter disaster in Sha’ar Yeshuv.
In 1997 two combat helicopters on their way to Lebanon collided; 73 soldiers and officers were killed.

A separate accident almost ended in disaster on Wednesday, when a Sufa-type F-16 fighter jet encountered difficulties during takeoff, causing the pilots to eject at their southern Air Force base. The two were not injured, and the plane was stopped on the runway through a special net.

At least there's some good news this evening. They were probably distracted by arguing over who was going to zap a hospital first.
Too bad our tax money paid for the fallen choppers. Too good for the IDF "pilots" that they went out in a blaze of hell.
If it weren't for me, where would I be?
Great News!
With my slow connexion it's not practical for me to watch videos. It could be that the stupid Jews don't have the skill to fly their helicopters properly. That sounds good. But the first thing I thought when I read the headline was, some Arabs have damaged the helicopters and they won't admit it. The mass media have been doing that for a while, claiming that helicopters have 'made emergency landings', or gone down due to 'mechanical failure', when actually they got shot down.
All across the nation,

There's a whole generation,
With a new explanation,
People in motion, people in motion!

Or they were probably trying to converge on a column of fleeing refugees.
I hear those IDF Apache helicopters are a bit harder to handle due to their modified nosecone radar housing. Apparently it is hooked and sticks out further, making the choppers more susceptible to nose collisions.

Good point. They'd never want to let on that their all important air superiority had any weak links or possible flaws to be exploited-or that the good guys had plenty of Stingers.
Jews wouldn't understand the idea of a fair fight. Vat is dish?
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Oy Ze Hate again.
LOL this is turning out to be a good thread. Can we put it in OV so the resident kikes can laugh with us?
Crash all you want, kikes; Uncle Sam will ship you out more, and with goy pilots included if need be.

This is a picture of Israelis reacting to a rocket attack. Is there something a little 'funny' about the guy on the right in this pic? It looks like Hezbollah may have inadvertantly broken up a gay rights rally.
