'White power' paper disturbs residents

A white supremacist newspaper was distributed over the weekend to neighborhoods in Smithfield and Isle of Wight.

Residents in the Moonefield and Red Point Heights neighborhoods reported receiving copies of The White Patriot Leader, a Vanguard News Network publication, Smithfield Police Capt. Alonzo Howell said.

"A lot of people have expressed concern for their kids to read and see this kind of literature," Howell said. It's unknown where the copies came from or how many were distributed, Howell said.
