U.S. ready to take in 60,000 Bhutanese refugees living in Nepal

The United States has expressed its readiness to take in upto 60,000 Bhutanese refugees stranded in eastern Nepal for last 16 years, local media reported on Thursday.

"We can take in 50,000-60,000 refugees within the next 3-4 years," Kantipur daily reported, referring to the statement of Ellen Sauerbrey, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for refugee affairs, made to the international media.

"Canada and Australia have also indicated their willingness to resettle some refugees from about 105,000 in their countries too," Sauerbrey said. She is currently in Geneva to attend a conference of the UN refugee agency.

However, refugee leaders have termed the U.S. statement " unclear" and stressed that Nepal should make it clear formally at first.

Bal Ram Paudel, leader of Bhutan People's Party said that the U. S. statement might have come to push the refugee issue into shadow.

Another refugee leader D.P. Kafle said the influential countries should help them to return to their own homeland.

As 15 rounds of bilateral talks between Nepal and Bhutan on refugees could not yield any result, the UN refugee agency has also been advocating for third country settlement of refugees in the recent years.

Just what we need, more savages who will probably need an in-depth primer on how to use arcane technological implements like door knobs and water taps.

The State Department doesn't care that Congress just authorized a zillion dollars to build a useless fence along the mexican boarder. They will shove those filthy little brown people up our ass any way that they can.

I'm sure they will be quite welcome in Rounder's neighborhood. Let him deal with them.

If it weren't for me, where would I be?

This is in addition to the 140,000 slopeheads from Burma who were just invited to settle here.

Sweet bleeding Jesus! I know all about these wierd Mongol-Dravid muds. They are so ugly and dysgenic as to make most Mestizos look like Swedish lumberjacks, as primative as any Congoid, dumb as stones, and more prolific than any Mexican.
Soon Sumner Redstone will be Bhuiggerizing them teaching them hip hop and trying to sell them to White girls. I wish Baby Bush would take all of them.....up his ass

There is a burmese neighborhood in my town and I happened upon their community. Through a cultural event I was introduced to the head of a burmese coalition trying to bring more burmese to america; it seemed all of the burmese were involved in this agenda. When you see an article like this it means that the people coming here will organize and work to bring more. I found out that this coalition was given funds by a local college which their leader attended. I also found out that around 20 of them lived in each of the many small houses they "rented".

Your fathers, mothers, daughters, sons
Have been taken by the chosen ones
But don't you forget you made the choice,
You made your mark, you raised your voice,
They're all the same, you're all to blame
You're dogs!
